SUMMER

If you live in NYC you would definitely feel the sharp rise in prices in local restaurants. The quality of offerings, unfortunately, went down, however, the premises are heavily decorated a la Paris 2022 (plastics flowers in thousands). The interior designers have clearly thought much longer about the place than anyone involved with the menu. The decoration fever didn't touch only our restaurants it spreads out to the eyewear! And this is a little disturbing because people in weird clothes don't look as bad as those in weird glasses.

So far, and I am sure we are just starting here, two directions - jewels (remember those Pandora bracelets you can buy charms for) and alternative materials.

Exhibit 1:

Gentle Monster + D'Heygere (the French accessories brand).

The company's website talks about, "showcasing unparalleled creativity and identities of their own" and has a tutorial on how to take your or D'Heydere's earrings and smack them into the frame. The same can be done with rings (those look especially bizarre).

Exhibit 2:

Marni is leading the next trend - the alternative materials: wrapping their Maverick sunglasses in signature green mohair, pricing it at 733 USD. The model has a matching sweater and I suggest including a bottle of antiallergy meds because mohair next to your eyes is a challenging concept, to put it nicely.

All this leads us to question: is this what creativity has been defined by now, or this is just a summer heat?
